CQ, CQ… Where have you been?

RadioGirlde… N1SUZ! How have y’all been?! It’s been a very long time since I’ve updated this blog. Due to some unforseen circumstances I was out of commission for a bit, but I’m back! New state, new home and… a new radio!

N1SUZ is officially a South Carolina resident! And last week, we put up an antenna (this time a Mystery Antenna) and dusted off the radios. As we get the ham shack put back in order, we are operating with my Kenwood TS-480 barefoot attached to the antenna through a window. In the past 2 weeks I have thus far made 161 contacts… are you one of them?!

I am loving being back on the radio! The new radio that we will be setting up is none other than a Kenwood 590! Along with the Kenwood, there will be a 600 watt amp and a tuner. There is something special about throwing a wire out the window with 100 watts of power and talking to someone halfway across the world, but it’s going to be fun having a little more power…

BUT, we won’t be setting any of that up until after June 23rd! Why after June 23rd? Well, we are going to be running our home station on emergency power with just 100 watts for FIELD DAY! We dusted off the radios just in time to have a little fun with everyone else participating in this years mega event, Field Day 2019! Listen for N1SUZ and KJ4WKD (that’s the OM) calling CQ CQ for YOU! We will be 1E SC… after that weekend, we’ll talk some more!

73 & 88’s, Suzanne… N1SUZ
